“Rhythms and Brain Disorders”

Normal cognition relies on brain rhythms for coordination. This coordination is far more complex than just synchronization, and depends on the physiology underlying the rhythms. Pathologies of brain rhythms are associated with (almost) all abnormal states of the brain. In this talk, I argue that these dynamic pathologies can be causal for disease symptoms, not just biomarkers of them. I will give examples of how these ideas apply to brain diseases.
